Under Queueing, set max Active and downloading torrents to 2 each - though generally you should limit it to only 1 torrent at a time. Keep Peer Exchange reuses existing peer/seed connecitons but only works with public torrents. Make sure you've got your internet connection disabled BEFORE running uTorrent again!ĭISABLE: UPnP, NAT-PMP, LPD, DHT (both kinds!), and Resolve IPs (right-click in PEERS window of a torrent). Only a complete VPN connection of everything would likely give you more hiding/stealth than ALL this - as it would be both completely encrypted AND only a single TCP connection. The latest DPI (Deep Packet Inspection) equipment that ISPs use to monitor and data-mine customer activities online DOES detect tracker connect attempts and often registers that as "BitTorrent activity", blocking/disrupting/throttling ANY ips the tracker hands back as seed/peer ip sources. And the communications usually is only a few KBs - almost certainly less than 10 KB total each time. Torrent tracker communications typically only occurs once every 30 minutes or hour PER tracker on each torrent you have active or scraping. I'm not good with proxies at all, as I've only used them once or twice briefly more than a year ago. There's no point in sending all the peer/seed traffic through the proxy (what "use proxy server for peer-to-peer connections" means), as it SHOULD all be encrypted anyway. To reduce how many connections you have at once, you have to turn off extra features and reduce values in uTorrent.īefore you begin using uTorrent, you may want to try using a PROXY server to connect to the torrent tracker/s! This is something to do before beginning. Hiding what the connections are doesn't hide how many connections you have! Operating system is Win10 圆4.Nothing much really. This also happens if I don't have my VPN on at all. I DON'T have adblock activated on my VPN, but when I activate it same thing happens. ![]() It's just torrenting! Any ideas? If it helps I have an TP-Link Archer C20.Īnother thing is that Utorrent loads weirdly, no ads are shown and a blue loading disc shows up next to the cursor for a bit every now and then. I'm online, no problem getting to sites, no problems on my phone with wifi. Getting an orange triangle at the bottom corner that says No incoming connections, could indicate an issue with network configuration. I'm guessing it might be something with my router, it allows for UPnP, and it's enabled and if I log on to my router dash I can see utorrent listed there under UPnP. ![]() Network: Port not open (you are still able to download) Automatic port mapping is on.įirewall exceptions added, I've also tried shutting off both antivirus and firewall. Timed out waiting for message from server (i've tried all servers, same effect) ![]() ![]() (Note- at my old place with ADSL and another router I had 10mbps, still worked with torrents, it just takes a while). I have a fairly stable connection (fiber) at 30mbps up/down. I've tried files with sufficient seeders, but I can't get my utorrent (3.5.5) to move past Connecting to peers. I've tried downloading with my VPN turned off, no change. The weird thing is that I managed to download one file yesterday with no issues. I've got a new router and VPN (Surfshark) and I can't get torrenting to work.
